Young Walter is hired in a video store: he hopes to have an afternoon, but soon to the video tapes he comes up with a newsstand that forces him to get up at dawn to go to work.

Walter knows Tatjana, a secretary at the Goethe Institute, a vegetarian and nudist maniac, with whom she lives for some time in the poor lodging she has rented out of town until she goes to teach German Oulu, in the north of Finland.
About four years of monotonous existence, overwhelming work, forces him to save on everything, living with the unbearable Arnaldarnoldo, of customers incontestable to the impossible needs, during which Walter gradually sees his dream youthful of a life free from the habits to which almost everyone suffers.
Walter for a year-end vacation takes a few holiday days and goes to Oulu. Tatjana receives him in the middle of a party full of nudists; Walter is disappointed to leave without even greeting her, and after wandering around Europe some day back to work.
He expects to be fired to leave without warning, but in his absence the director has caused an accident: the video store chain has driven him out and, in order not to damage his image, seeks an internal substitute. The choice falls right on Walter, considered the least unsuitable.
With the new salary, in a short while, Walter's life turns: he begins to indulge in luxuries of all kinds and lead a life like Arnaldarnoldo's life.
