Kunsthalle Vienna
The Kunsthalle Wien is a municipal exhibition space for modern and contemporary art of the Austrian capital Vienna. The art gallery is part of the Viennese Museums Quarter, close to the city center.
The art gallery was opened in 1992 and was intended as a temporary exhibition center in a container-built building designed by Adolf Krischanitz for the Viennese Karlsplatz. In May 2001, the art gallery moved to the current establishment in the main building of the MuseumsQuartier.
The exhibition space at the Karlsplatz was maintained in reduced form and now serves as project space. The Café der Kunsthalle is also located on Karlsplatz. Photo gallery Externe link
