One Last Kiss

One Last Kiss is a song written by Lee Adams and Charles Strouse. It plays an important role in the story of the musical and film Bye Bye Birdie. In the story, the character Albert Peterson wrote the song in the hope that the character Conrad Birdie will sing it during the Ed Sullivan Show and then Kim McAfee give a last kiss before he goes into the army.

In the original Broadway Musical, this song was sung by Dick Gautier (as Conrad Birdie). In the film version, it was sung by Jesse Pearson (as Conrad Birdie). In the film version, it was sung in two scenes, but in both scenes the song was not finished. In one scene, Birdie is playing the song in a gym for the Ed Sullivan Show, but is called on to practice it later. In the second scene, Conrad Birdie sings the song during the Ed Sullivan Show, but is singled out unconsciously by Hugo Peabody, the jealous boyfriend of Kim McAfee. On the soundtrack of the movie, a full version of the song can be heard, sung by Jesse Pearson.

One Last Kiss was conquered by Bobby Vee, who released it as a single in 1960.
