In 1974, Selmer Paris Mark VII saxophone was taken by Selmer. With this, after 20 years, Mark VI ceased production. Improvements were made to the mechanism, which were taken over by later models (Super Action 80).

However, the lack of production of the 'Mark VI' for Selmer was felt. Therefore, Selmer has launched two new models in 2000. The " 36" (inspired by the Balanced Action made from 1936) and the 54 (inspired by Mark VI) are saxophones copying the size of the tube of the old Balanced Action and Mark VI. This would ensure that there are sound features in these instruments that have the old Balanced Action and Mark VI as well. The main thing that distinguishes saxophones is that they both have a modern application mechanism and not those of the older models.
