Simon Donaldson
Simon Kirwan Donaldson (Cambridge, August 20, 1957) is a British mathematician known for his work in the topology of smooth (differentiable) four-dimensional varieties.
He is now Royal Society research professor of pure mathematics and chairman of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences at Imperial College in London. Awards and awards
Donaldson was awarded the Fields Medal in 1986 with the Nemmers Prize in math and 2009 with The Shaw Prize. In 2010 he was elected a foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Footnotes
