Potone (about 426 BC) was the daughter of Ariston and Periktione. She was a sister of philosopher Plato and the mother of philosopher Speusippos.

She originated from Kollytos, a part of ancient Athens that was located south of the Acropolis within the city walls. About Potone's life is not much known. Her other brothers and sisters were Glaukon, Adeimantos, a half-brother Antiphonphone and a stepmother Demos, born of her mother's mother's marriage with Pyrilampes. She married the Eurymedon of Myrrhinos, with whom she received a son, Speusippos and probably a daughter, Speusippos later became the successor to his uncle Plato as Head of the Academy (Scholarch).
